Scanning at the door

No app to install. Each steward gets a link and a PIN, and the link opens a scanner in the phone's browser.

Before the event

1. Open the event and choose the Door tab.
2. Under Door staff, type the steward's name and choose Add door steward. Their six-digit PIN is shown once; copy it.
3. Choose Copy next to their scanner link and send them both, by WhatsApp or however you like.

Add yourself first. Add a steward per gate if you have more than one; each row shows how many scans they did and when they were last seen.

On the night

The steward opens the link, types the PIN and chooses Start scanning. This downloads the guest list to the phone, so do it while there is signal. Then Start camera and point it at a ticket.

Every scan gives one of five answers, big and colour-coded:

• Admit — a valid ticket, used for the first time.
• Already used — the same ticket was scanned before.
• Cancelled — the ticket was refunded or the event was cancelled.
• Transferred — the ticket was passed on to someone else, who now has their own code. Don't admit this one; the new code is the one that works.
• Not a ticket — not a Tikit ticket, or a forged code.

On a seated event the answer also names the seat — Admit · Stalls A-12 — so the steward can point the way.

If a buyer's screen is cracked, type the 8-character code printed under the QR into the box and choose Check.

With no signal

The scanner keeps working. Tickets are verified on the phone itself, so the answers are just as reliable. Scans queue up (the badge says how many) and sync the moment signal returns. If two stewards scan the same ticket while both are offline, the first one to sync wins and the other sees Already used afterwards.

Refresh list re-downloads the guest list, which matters if you sold tickets, or buyers passed tickets on, after the steward signed in. Until the list is refreshed, a passed-on ticket's new code reads Not a ticket on a phone with no signal, and the old code still reads Admit until the phone syncs and learns it was transferred.

Watching it from the dashboard

The Door tab shows checked-in counts by tier, every scan including rejects, and which steward did it, updating on its own while the event is on. Switching a steward off stops their link working immediately.
